Walk-In Cooler and Freezer Installation at Bethesda and Washington DC locations Support DMV Expansion
The installation of a new refrigeration system at Rosetta Bakery in Bethesda, Maryland, represents a successful collaboration focused on efficiency, reliability and long-term performance for a busy commercial food operation. Working alongside Avanti International Hotel & Restaurant Supply, the project centered on the installation of a walk-in combination cooler and freezer systems [Amerikooler Combo Walk-in Cooler and Freezer (18′ x 9′ x 8’6″) and Heatcraft Air-Cooled Remote Refrigeration System – one for the freezer and another for the cooler, with an intelliGen smart controller]. In all, the project was designed to support the bakery’s daily storage and operational needs. From the start, the goal was clear: deliver a streamlined installation that would provide dependable refrigeration while minimizing disruption to the new location’s setup timeline.
Our team handled the full scope of the refrigeration installation, including receiving and erecting the walk-in cooler/freezer unit, hanging evaporators and positioning condensing units on a rack in the alley behind the building. Refrigeration line sets were carefully installed and insulated using advanced UV-protected K-Flex insulation to ensure durability for outdoor conditions. Drain lines were installed and the entire system was evacuated, charged with refrigerant and thoroughly tested during startup to confirm proper performance. Throughout the process, careful attention was given to efficiency and system integrity, ensuring the refrigeration infrastructure would support consistent temperature control critical for food safety and product quality.

The completed system provides Rosetta Bakery with a dependable cold-storage solution that supports both refrigeration and freezer requirements in one integrated setup. With professional installation, proper startup procedures and a one-year labor warranty on the work performed, the bakery now has a refrigeration system designed to perform reliably under the demands of a high-volume food environment. Projects like this highlight how thoughtful planning, experienced technicians and quality equipment come together to create systems that businesses can depend on day after day.
In addition to the successful installation at Rosetta Bakery’s Bethesda location, this project represents part of an ongoing partnership between Nationwide Refrigeration, Inc.
